Craven Holmes Design and Build, based in Sedgeford, Norfolk, are an award winning innovative architectural practice with particular expertise in the design and build of domestic, residential new-build houses, house extensions, residential developments, conversions and internal remodelling and alterations.
Who We Are
Craven Holmes Design and Build Limited is a local design and build company, which believes in high quality workmanship, detailing and innovative use of materials, to build high quality sustainable and low maintenance properties, extensions and renovations.
How We Started
David and I were friends many years before we formed a partnership. David did an apprenticeship with a local builder learning most things in the building trade and becoming a qualified carpenter.
My grandfather was an architect and builder which inspired me to pursue a career in design and build. With both of us having a shared interest in design and build we formed a partnership in 1992. We started with small extensions and renovation projects and soon progressed to our first new build.
Since then we haven’t looked back. We always have a very good working relationship with our clients with much ‘repeat work’. The majority of our work comes through recommendation.
Our Ethos
We believe that anything is possible. If we can draw it we can build it and have proved this many times over the years. Attention to detail and the finished product is what we are about. We treat every project as if it was our own, however big or small, and take pride and personal satisfaction in what we have achieved.
As we design and build the project every aspect of the build is considered and planned so the job runs smoothly. Every job to date has been completed within budget.
As a young boy I was shown some of my grandfather’s houses. They have a style and design that still looks good today. It has been our aim to provide good design and build quality which will have the same longevity.
How We Work
We are a true design and build firm unlike most builders who just partner with a separate design business. We are there every step of the way. Ensuring we are the ones on site and in the drawing office and are always available to talk to you. We do it our way we do it properly.
Your vision is the starting point. We then work with you from sketch design to full realisation of the project. You can have as much or as little involvement as you wish. We can do design, planning, building regulations, specifications, construction work, project management, to handing keys over.
